Week in Review: White Lies to White Rags

This week I talked about the potential damage white lies can do, a lesson we can teach our children when a siren sounds, God’s “valentine” to us, being the woman I want to be, and an analogy of sin.

  • In Dishonesty and the Little White Lies, I wanted to talk about the potential dangers of telling even half truths. I don’t know a person alive who hasn’t lied and even those of us who value integrity and are better at avoiding outright lies often have a hard time with little white lies and half truths when used with the best intentions. To read some further thoughts on this, check out this blog.
  • I’ve been teaching my children to pray when a siren sounds. My hope is they will learn a valuable lesson about compassion for others. My blog titled, A Siren’s Sound for Prayer encourages other parents to use their children’s natural curiosities as an opportunity to teach them about God, and in this particular case, teach them about prayer.
  • Valentine’s Day is an opportunity to go the extra mile to show our special someone how much they are loved. God too has gone far and above to show His great love for us, and He does it daily. In my blog Valentine’s Day: God’s Valentine, I wanted to serve the reminder who our biggest valentine should go to.
  • I’ve been working this year on Becoming the Woman I Want to Be. I suppose this is kind of my theme for 2007. I do have quite a journey ahead, but one where I know I’m not walking alone. In this blog I talk about the personal battles I face that I believe many others face as well.
  • In my blog The White Rag and Sin, I share a lesson I learned at a young age. It’s a metaphor about sin being like dirt and grime, a rag being like a person, and how every rag needs a good cleaning from time to time.
