Week Twenty Five

Week twenty five has been a week for changes and altered perspectives. I began the week rededicated to eating healthy and maintaining my protein intake while avoiding sweets and other foods high on the glycemic index which also includes limited my previously excessive fruit intake.

As my uterus continues to expand, my baby has gotten more and more active and through her movements it seems that she is of a much more substantial size (I can actually feel her rolling back and forth from one side of my uterus to the other). Also new this week are in utero hiccups in the form of those rhythmic little flutters of movement.

The weather this week has cooled off even more almost necessitating turning on the heat … not quite. Needless to say the windows are no longer open with fans pulling in the cooler air. This much cooler weather has made sleeping positively blissful!

Thanks to the cooler weather I have been able to wear some of the clothes from my fall maternity wardrobe: skinny jeans and leggings, long dress tops, and sweaters. Most of my pre-pregnancy summer clothes have been put away and I have not used my belly band at all this week because the clothes that require the belly band are for warmer weather.

Also this week my sister delivered her baby girl! Talking to her about her birth experience made me start thinking about making preparations for labor and the delivery of our baby girl. Seeing pictures of my sweet newborn niece have made my husband and I more anxious and excited for the birth of our daughter. I am still trying to focus on all the special moments of my pregnancy and not wishing it away so that I can have our little girl in my arms: it will happen soon enough!

Overall I have had a lot more focus this week on my diet, exercise, and hydration. I am striving even harder to make sure that my baby girl has every thing she needs to grow strong and healthy.
