Weighing Yourself

When it comes to weighing yourself, you might be wondering how often you should do it and when the best time to do it is. I have been enjoying the Wii Fit Plus for the past week now and one of the benefits to this program is that it will show you exactly what your BMI is and how much you weigh. They suggest doing a daily body test to check where you are at.

I have lost weight but I notice slight fluctuations, going either up or down. The system would point out to me that it’s best to weigh yourself at the same time every day. Some days I weigh myself in the morning, some in the afternoon and other days as late as 9:00 p.m. Needless to say I am probably not getting the most accurate reading because of this.

It really is a good idea to weigh yourself at the same time everyday. Most people also believe that it’s best to do in the morning. You are probably at your most accurate weight in the morning. As the day goes on, you have eaten and put on water weight. The body also goes through other changes related to energy levels and your emotions. So the morning is probably the best time of day.

So how often should you weigh yourself? I think it depends on what it does to your mindset. If it gets you upset or you become so absorbed in numbers, it may not be a good idea to do it on a daily basis. I have always felt that the weight was less important than how I felt and how my clothes were fitting. Instead of having a set weight, I have decided upon going down one size.

If I focus more on how my clothes are fitting and notice even slight changes there, I tend to feel more motivated. There is nothing wrong with weighing yourself unless it becomes an unhealthy obsession. Keep your focus where it needs to be.
