Bravo! You have lost some weight and are starting to feel pretty good in fewer clothes once again, but how good is good?
Summer clothing season is at our heels and it is a mad rush to beat the extra poundage so that we can wear shorts for those of us who are brave enough. Wearing shorts for the ones with extra weight is sometimes intimidating. You are feeling better because you lost some weight, but you are still self-conscious because you are not a pencil.
Why, oh why can’t we look really good in a little pair of shorts, a tank top and slip on sandals? It would be so quick and easy to get dressed in the morning, not to mention cool and comfortable. You can look good in shorts and if you still don’t believe me then throw all caution to the wind. Say to yourself, “Who cares? I lost some weight and know that I am making a concentrated effort on getting to my goal. I am not going to be hot just because someone does not like the way that I look.” Then go for it.
Put on some shorts. They do not have to be skimpy, riding up the yahoozie kind of shorts. They can be nice casual shorts, possibly midway between the knee and the top of your leg or even a tad bit longer. You can always adjust them by rolling them up if they are too long for your liking. Not comfortable in sleeveless? Me neither. While you are working the muscle of the wiggly underarm there is no reason why you can’t enjoy a tee shirt, or other casual top with short sleeves. You will still be cool. You might not be as cool as if you were in a sleeveless, but cooler than buried under layers of fabric like you did before you lost weight.
Ditch the really long dresses unless they are your favorite summery dresses. You can wear something that is just above the knee and probably feel pretty good about it depending on your size.
Come to terms with your body size. You know that you are on the road to additional weight loss. Having already lost some weight there is no need to suffer in the heat.
Select appropriate clothing for your body size that will make you feel good about yourself. Pick a flattering cut and style and do not worry about it too much. You are on your way to those short, shorts and midriff tops and will get there in due time.
