Beginning February 1, 2007 there was a new addition to our Christian Blogging family here at Families.com. I am very excited to work along side of Amy who, like me, has love and a passion for Christ, and a desire to share of His goodness with others. Amy has taken the opportunity to introduce herself in her first blog so I won’t go into that here but I encourage you to read it (link provided at the bottom of this page).
It really is wonderful to be able to work at a job along side of another Christian. I know not everyone receives this kind of opportunity. Working in Christian churches was also wonderful as those who were there didn’t just look at their duties as a means of employment, but an opportunity to reach out to others, fellowship with co-workers, and serve the Lord. Since August 1, 2006 when I first started blogging for Families.com, I’ve had so much fun learning and growing in my faith through studying and writing. I’m sure Amy will find the same will be true for her.
Even if there are subtle differences within our faith, I believe our hope here is the same: to learn and grow, share the light of Christ as well as wisdom we’ve picked up along the way, and to encourage others.
Now, to my new blogging friend Amy, WELCOME! Families.com is a special place and I hope you’ll see it as such too. I look forward to working with you, sharing and learning.
Here are a couple scriptures that I hope will not just give us some encouragement, but keep each of our perspectives in place as we continue to write:
- “As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.” (Proverbs 27:17)
- “Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation continuing steadfastly in prayer; distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion. Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.” (Romans 12:9-18)
I hope everyone who reads will consider book marking the Christian Blogging section and visit us often. We so appreciate your readership and support here. God bless you!
