I recently had an experience that really helped to change the way I look at my life. Lately I have been lamenting about how hard my life is (at least it seems so to me), and complaining about so many little things. Not really vocally, but more inside of myself. This does not make for a great outlook on things. This experience helped me to realize how blessed I really am. Since it is Thanksgiving this month, I thought I would share some things I am truly grateful for.
1- My husband is my best friend. I am grateful for all the hard work he does each day. He is a great father and loves our children very much. He is willing to sacrifice a lot for our family.
2- My children are my joy in life. Their sweet personalities brighten my day. Though days can get hectic and my children rowdy, I am glad that they are healthy, growing, learning and living each day to the fullest.
3- My extended family is a great support to me. I am grateful for my parents and my brothers and sisters and the love that we have shared over the years. I am also grateful for my husband’s extended family. Both of our families do a lot to support our families.
4- I am grateful for the gospel. It has given me a sense of purpose and direction for my life. It has given me strength when I needed it. I am grateful for Christ and the love that He has for each of His children. I am grateful for my testimony and the strength it gives me.
5- My education is a blessing that I will always cherish. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to pursue a higher education. It required a lot of hard work and sacrifice, but I gained so much from it.
6- I am grateful for technology and pretty much every invention that has made life easier. Computers, telephones, plumbing, advances in medicine and so many other things as well.
What are you grateful for?
