I love every stage in my baby’s life. There are precious moments in each one, but I am particularly loving my sweet little four month old right now. No, he is not sleeping through the night yet, and no, his tummy troubles have not been fixed, but he sure is sweet, and I am loving watching him grow and develop. It seems that for me, when my kids hit 4 months old, I start to really enjoy all the sweetness that comes with being a Mom.
My little guy is smiling at me all the time. One lady said, “Oh, he only has eyes for Mama doesn’t he?” Yep, he does. And, while that can be exhausting, there is something so great about it also. He will look at me across the room, and burst into a giant smile. I can say anything at all practically and it is music to his ears. Am I that fantastic? No. But, my four month old might argue otherwise. If he could talk.
I also love how he is able to grab things now. He constantly wants to put things into his mouth and chew on them. This leads to more moments where he can “entertain himself”. He is finally starting to play a little, and it is fun to watch him figure out how to pick things up and get them to his mouth so that he can explore all the textures of the world. He seems like he’s possibly starting to teeth already, although this would be early compared to my other two children. We will see.
He hasn’t rolled over yet, but he sure is trying. Along with that comes some frustration as he doesn’t quite seem to like his tummy time just yet. But, he will learn it is a safe place to be, and maybe that sleep will start to get a little better too.
I love how he tries to talk to me. He sure does try to mimic me when I say “Hi” to him on the changing table. I know he wants to say Hi back so bad.
I just can’t seem to get enough of this little guy, and that is so nice for a change. The first few months of his life were so hard for me, but I’m grateful for this new stage where we can get to know each other even better. I also love watching him watch his big brother and sister. Last night, he was watching his sister twirl around the room, and laughed and squealed each time she came close. It was precious. He is precious. What is YOUR 4 Month Old Up to?
