Tristi’s review of What Not to Wear had me so intrigued that I had to watch it. I watched a few shows and really enjoyed seeing these women gain confidence, find clothes for their age and style, and become comfortable in their own bodies. Browsing through podcasts the other day I was thrilled to discover that stylists Stacy London and Clinton Kelly have sixteen short video podcasts that can be viewed online or downloaded to cell phones and Ipods.
In these short one to three minute video podcasts, Stacy and Clinton cover things like how to wear those big shirts without looking big, what sleeve styles look good on different figures, and what kind of collar to wear for particular necklines. I had no idea there were so many sleeve and neck types. Other podcasts cover how to wear the hottest clothes, how to wear black and white without washing out your skin tone, how to use patterns, and texture, how to take work clothes from day to evening, what kinds of summer clothes are appropriate for the workplace, and what types of winter and holiday dress options will flatter different body types.
These podcasts haven’t been updated since August of 2007, so some of the information may be a little dated. I wouldn’t really know if shells are still a great stylish embellishment for summer purses. I am sure that things like what styles and shapes of clothing flatter different body types stays the same from season to season. Which makes these podcasts still worth watching.
Fans of the show What Not to Wear should take a look at these podcasts. I’d also recommend them to anyone wanting to learn a little more about fashion and figure flattering clothing.
