What Satan Wants You to Believe: Part 2

Part 1 of this two part series I addressed the lies of Satan: Denying Jesus as God, that God’s power is no longer here with us, questioning the accuracy of the Bible, and the beliefs that people who do signs in wonders in Jesus name are all of God. So, here I’ll continue:

  • Question what God Says. “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” By Satan causing Eve to question the Lord’s sincerity and warning about the tree, Eve justified partaking of the fruit as did her husband.
  • Justify what is sinful. This seems to be one of the biggest issues in the church. There are denominations which believe God changes with the times. Sin is justified by Satan. Doesn’t God want you to feel good? Doesn’t God want you to be happy? Why would God say this; it doesn’t make sense to me?
  • Questioning the ways of God. People often wonder why bad things happen to good people. It’s a fair question. But if Satan can have us believe that the God of the Bible is cruel, and doesn’t care, then why would He be worth serving? Fact is, even if God were to be cruel, He’s still God, our creator, infinite in wisdom and power, and deserving of our praise. But He truly is a God of love who gives us free will. He designed a paradise for us to live in and mankind has perverted it with sin. So, here we are reaping the consequences of sin. Yet even through this, He sent us Jesus to be a living sacrifice to free us from the eternal bondage of sin. He is also full of grace and mercy as He guides those who follow Him.
  • Deny the existence of Satan and his demons. If there is no Satan and no demons, then there must not be a hell. If there’s no hell, what do I have to lose right? I mean if I didn’t like my life anyway, why bother to seek everlasting life; might as well live it up here on earth? The problem with this way of thinking is it goes against even common sense. If God is good, and there is no Satan, than where is all the evil influence in the world coming from? Indeed there is a spirit realm and we really need to be aware of it.

“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded you waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God…” (Ephesians 6:11-17; NKJV)
