This actually is a very common problem for scrapbookers. Many scrapbookers have to make do with dining room tables, living room cabinets and other odd spots throughout the home. Apartments can really be difficult especially because there is just not much space. So what do you do?
First and foremost, you must take inventory of what you have, what you plan to buy and how much room you will need for future storage. Next, you will need to survey where you plan to actually scrapbook. How convenient do you need your supplies?
If you plan to scrapbook on the living room floor or the couch, you will want to have your storage needs portable so you can move them around. Perhaps a scrapbook tote would work best for you.
If you are planning to scrapbook at your dining room table, is there a place that you can store right there near the table? Perhaps a china cabinet, or a couple of drawers can be devoted to scrapbook supplies.
Do you need a place to hide your supplies so people don’t see them, or so that children don’t get into them. Consider cleaning out a hall closet or even making room in your bedroom closet to store supplies. Using drawer carts and boxes can make this much easier so you can actually organize your supplies.
Having a small space, or no dedicated space for scrapbooking, does not mean you cannot do it. It just means you have to be innovative and creative in your endeavor to store your items.
Store your albums upright on a bookshelf in any room, and just pull them off when you are ready to put the pages into them.
