What Will 2011 Bring to Your Home Business?

A few days before the New Year, I take time to sit down and think about goals. I’m not big on New Year’s Resolutions but I like the whole idea of setting goals for important areas in my life. Of course, one of those areas is with my career.

Having a home business is mostly a blessing but it does have its downsides. I started to think about some of them and how I can either overcome them or learn to readjust. It got me thinking, “What will 2011 bring to my home business?”

Well here is the thing, it really won’t bring anything. That’s because I have to work and seek out the opportunities that will further my career. Nothing is going to drop into my lap.

Since my home business is freelance writing I started thinking about that book I have almost finished. About a year ago my proposal piqued the interest of a publisher. After talking to someone from the publishing company, they suggested some changes that would make my book a better fit. It’s sad to say but I never got around to it. Not because I didn’t want to but because it seemed like time wouldn’t allow me to.

So needless to say that is on my radar screen for the year 2011, to finish that book. There are things we can do in our home business, no matter what type it is, that will further establish us, bring more success or allow us to gain more experience. We should embrace those things.

What will 2011 bring to your home business? The question is what will you bring to your home business? What have you always wanted to do but were afraid to try? What unfinished projects do you have sitting around? How much untapped potential do you possess?

Make 2011 all it can be by taking steps to make your home business all it was meant to be.
