Yoga is a great form of exercise that will help your body in several ways. Yoga has amazing health benefits for your body.
* Your breathing. The breathing that is practiced in yoga is known as Pranayama. The attention is focused primarily on the breath itself, which can help our lungs, our nasal area and help to decrease stress.
* Your stress. Yoga helps us to relieve stress because it is a form of physical exertion, exercise. You are stretching and moving your body in numerous ways and focusing on that alone. This physical activity combined with the concentration that one must have to do yoga helps us to feel more calm and relaxed.
* Your posture. Yoga strengthens your muscles and makes you more aware of your body movements. This in turn will cause us to obtain better posture. You will be better aligned because your muscles will be stronger.
* Your flexibility. When you begin yoga for the very first time you will probably be a little tense and a little tight. Yoga will help to stretch the muscles and in time it will loosen you up. Eventually you will be able to move your body more freely and without pain or stiffness. Every part of your body will benefit from this making you more flexible and more tone.
* Your balance. Many of the yoga poses requires you to maintain your balance. With time you will become stronger in this area. You will eventually be able to hold a pose for a good deal longer than you could previously.
* Your muscle tone. Yoga works to increase your muscle tone. Your muscles will become more toned and firm. Yoga can also help to actually decrease any pain in your body because of this newly achieved muscular strength.
