  • And more

I love great online reference material sites and Mickeypedia looks to be one that will be great – at least for your Disney needs and queries. As for the earlier questions, here are the answers:

Amelia Fieldmouse

Amelia Fieldmouse is Mickey Mouse’s sister and the mother of Mickey’s nephews Morty and Ferdie Fieldmouse. I had no idea Mickey had nephews much less a sister! As it turns out, Amelia has only shown up in the Disney comic books and she was not originally related to Mickey. Talk about obscure!

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit

Oswald was originally created an animated by Walt Disney. He appeared for the first time in 1927, however he was developed under contract with Universal and later in partnership with a gentleman named Charles B. Mintz. After a budgetary dispute, Disney quit, but he was unable to take Oswald with him. He never forgot this and made sure he owned all of his characters after that – including his soon to be created and most enduring character – Mickey Mouse.

Figaro

If you are thinking that Figaro was the cat in Pinocchio, then you would be correct. But Figaro has also appeared in the Mickey Mouse cartoons as Minnie’s cat and the nemesis of Pluto. Figaro appears regularly in many Disney productions, either as a cameo or a featured cat to do battle with Pluto. His most recent appearance includes episodes of Disney’s House of Mouse.
