When Kiddie Parties Go Wrong

Think your child’s last birthday party went horribly awry?

Well, you may have a tough time convincing a New Mexico mom that your kid’s bash was worse than the horror she experienced while celebrating her 4-year-old’s big day.

No, her kid didn’t lose an eye during a spirited game of darts. And he didn’t get whacked unconscious by a flying pinata either.

Rather, Andrea Anderson claims her son Corbin has been scarred for life because Chuck E. Cheese made an offensive gesture while posing for a photo with the birthday boy.

That’s right, Corbin’s mom is peeved because she believes a costumed mouse flipped her the bird while she was shooting him posing with her young son.

According to local newspapers, Anderson is not happy with the popular kiddie restaurant chain. The Las Cruces’ mom took the photo in question to local media outlets to show the world how Chuck E. ruined her little boy’s birthday.

The photo shows Chuck E. standing with his right arm around Corbin in a friendly fashion, but his left hand appears to be giving the camera-toting mom a brown, furry finger.

Chuck E. Cheese executives have their own interpretation.

“He has big wide paws, like a glove, and they’re lumpy and not clearly defined,” said a company spokesperson. “His glove is a thumb and three fingers, so what you see is his index finger extended – not his middle finger.”

Corbin’s mom is not buying it.

Neither is his dad, who had this to say about the fuzzy mouse’s questionable move:

“Why would you do that? If you don’t like your job, there is somebody else out there who would love to do what you do. You can go somewhere else to flip somebody off. That’s inappropriate.”

Corbin’s mom says she noticed the alleged obscene gesture when she got home from the party. Anderson says she was shocked to see the bird along with the mouse and her son while she was uploading party pictures to her Facebook page.

“I was mad. I still am,” Anderson told local news reporters. “That’s his 4th birthday picture, and it’s ruined. That was no way to treat a child.”

Some say the boy’s mom is blowing the situation out of proportion and should just get over it.
