Do you need more cash flow? Well, there are really only three ways to accomplish this. Let’s discuss them.
Earn more money. The best ways to earn more are:
• Ask for a raise. Seriously, why not? Think hard about your accomplishments and provide a good case. It doesn’t hurt to ask.
• Take on a second job. Seasonal labor is always in demand. You can help a retailer over the holidays or a gardener in the summer. Depending on your skills and time, there are almost limitless options.
• Look for freelance opportunities. Can you “sell” one of your skills, part-time as a consultant? Are you good at writing, sewing or photography? These days, with a little effort almost anyone can find a way to make a little money with a skill or talent.
• Change jobs. Are you making a market rate for your job skills? Do a little research… maybe switching jobs could help you get out of your cash flow problem.
Cut your spending. If you can’t bring in more money, then start spending less!
• Analyze your budget, what can you cut?
• Call your accounts – insurance, phone, garbage, etc… what ideas do they have to reduce your bills?

Sell assets. This is usually a last resort, but it can help you get some quick cash.
• Place some items you don’t use with good resell value on a website like Craigslist or eBay.
• Have a garage sale – clear out junk and make some cash.
• Dump that car. Even if you still are making payments, if you need the money… loosing an extra car can save you in gas, insurance, maintenance and loans.
• Sell off investments. This should ALWAYS be your last resort… but if you are really strapped for cash, it is an option.
