When Your Bedroom is an Eyesore

I don’t know if you are like me but I tend to spend more energy and effort into decorating the common areas of our home, like the kitchen and living room and less thought is put into my bedroom.

But when it comes to keeping the home clean, you are more likely to put effort into those rooms you have spent time decorating. Rooms that are just kind of blah don’t give you as much motivation.

So be sure to put some decorating touches in your bedroom, just to spruce things up and give you more drive to keep it clean. For instance, try new lighting which can really make a huge difference—track lighting or a softer bulb, depending on your preference. Candles are also a nice touch.

Put up a new picture or some new curtains. Paint, clean the carpet, move the furniture around. These are just different ideas to get you thinking.

One of the best ways however, to completely change the look of your bedroom is to invest in new bedding. Your bed is really the centerpiece of your room, so you want to make it pleasing to the eye.

New bedding will also encourage you to make that bed, since you will want it to look nice. Messy bedrooms and unmade beds become excuses to not keep it clean. Eliminate the excuses by putting some special touches in your bedroom.

You don’t even have to spend a lot of money. You can find things at secondhand stores or rummage sales. Commit to purchase just one thing each week and within a couple of months, you will have a completely new look.

Don’t let your bedroom become an eyesore. Every room in your house deserves the best when it comes to your housekeeping. And after all, this should be the place you can’t wait to get to at the end of the day.

What ideas do you have for making sure your bedroom isn’t an eyesore?
