Isn’t it funny how when you get out of a habit it is so hard to get back into it? I’m pretty stalled this week. There have been a couple of issues, I mean excuses.
First of all, my wonderful free elliptical may have just breathed its last. A part cracked on it, spilling white powder that is apparently pretty essential to the machine operating correctly. The part is no longer sold by the manufacturer, and my very talented husband has little hope of improvising a part to correct it. I may get a few more workouts out of it, but it looks like I may be back to square one.
During the summer and early fall, I was happy enough to go my working out outside. The colder air has definitely affected that, and I switched over to the elliptical. Now I am scrambling to see what I can do about getting a machine to replace the damaged one.
Hours for work have increased, as have school and church activities, which has made me less likely to get up early enough for my work outs (all of that staying up late). We are also gearing up for the holidays and finishing up the fall clean up.
So, I need a serious jolt of motivation so I don’t get too complacent. I am pretty comfortable with my size at the moment, but I don’t want to ruin the progress I have made. And to be honest, there probably should be more weight lost on my part to make sure that I am the healthiest I can be.
So, I am looking for a lot of tips about motivation. What keeps you motivated in your weight loss journey? What are some of your obstacles, and how do you overcome them? The holidays are coming up. Are there any special motivational tools that you have for dealing with weight loss during the holidays?
