It’s not every day that you can get round-trip airfare and three nights’ accommodations from the West Coast to Hawaii for less than $900. (For an extra $120 you can get the same deal to paradise from New York.)
Because May is typically a slow month for hotels in the “Aloha State” several tour operators are offering outstanding deals to Hawaii.
For example, the Keauhou Beach Resort package is being offered for $894 if you are departing from Phoenix, Arizona. The rate includes round-trip airfare to Kona (located on the western side of the Big Island) on U.S. Airways and three nights’ accommodations at the award-winning resort, which is located just 12 miles from the airport.
The oceanfront property boasts six tennis courts, a fitness center, a swimming pool, and the full-service spa. The resort also features an open-air restaurant that offers picturesque views of the Kona Coast, and a smaller lounge, which offers tropical libations and nightly live entertainment.
Each of the hotel’s 309 rooms are decorated with wicker and rattan furnishings, and Hawaiian art. Each also has its own private balcony with views of the ocean or the volcanoes, which helped shape the state’s youngest island.
The resort is located next door to one of the island’s hottest snorkeling spots and is three miles down the road from the main shopping area.
The lodging rates are even more affordable if you can spare the money to get to South Africa. The Barrydale, a 19th-century hotel near the Langeberg Mountains is offering rooms for just $80 per night. Rooms at the hotel are furnished with modern pieces and boast private bathrooms. The $80 rate also includes breakfast and a souvenir bottle of South African wine.
For ten bucks more you could relax watch whales breach at the Southern Right Hotel at Glencairn Beach. The property boasts spectacular ocean views and spacious guest rooms that feature high ceilings, large windows, original wood floors, and local artwork. Breakfast is also included.
