Who Do You Think You Are? Season 2 Starts Soon

If you enjoy genealogy, you are probably eagerly awaiting the second season of NBC’s popular show “Who Do You Think You Are?”. The second season of this very interesting genealogy reality show begins on Friday, February 4. “Who Do You Think You Are” is a fascinating show to watch for many reasons. Since it is a show about family history, each episode is as unique and fascinating as the celebrity who is discovering their past piece by piece.

The list of celebrities that will be featured in this season of “Who Do You Think You Are?” is diverse. Vanessa Williams, Tim McGraw, Kim Cattrall, Rosie O’Donnell, Lionel Richie, Steve Buscemi, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Ashley Judd will all be learning about their ancestors this season. I decided to do a little investigating to see what kinds of things we can look forward to in some of the episodes.

Vanessa Williams is the first celebrity who we will see this season. She says that she does not know much about her father’s side of the family, and she begins her journey at her father’s grave in the family burial plot. Country music star Tim McGraw begins with his birth certificate and ends up discovering a family tie to one of America’s founding fathers. Rosie O’Donnell was very young when she lost her mother, and she will learn quite a bit that she never knew about her family through her experience on the show. The episode that I am most eager to see is the one featuring Kim Cattrall. I am a big fan of Sex and The City, and would love to see if there is anyone in her family history that resembles sassy Samantha Jones, Kim’s character on that show.

Whether you like celebrities, family history, or both, you will certainly enjoy watching “Who Do You Think You Are?”. I watched quite a few of the episodes last season, and will certainly be back for more. It is just so interesting to see what can happen when people are able to actually travel to all of the places that are a part of their heritage.
