Every so often in my home business, I have what I like to call a SUPER day…I get started early and feel energized, I check things off my to-do list and manage to get all sorts of things done–all while feeling perky and inspired. What I cannot help but wonder, however, is why EVERY DAY cannot be a SUPER DAY?!
Have you ever had one of those days where you were just on fire? Everything seemed to go your way and you got so much done that you did what would ordinarily be a week’s worth of work in a day? I know that for most of us these special days do not happen very often (if you are having super days all the time, I definitely want to hear from you! What ARE you doing?), but when they do, it can be so inspiring and invigorating that it is tempting to assume that one has turned a corner and is now operating on a completely different level.
I suppose if we were athletes, we would refer to it as “being in the zone”—that place where even the most minimal effort produces great results. Instead of being exhausting, when things are going well it actually seems to give me energy and inspire me to work longer, harder or more. Why is it that the days when things are really rough and I hardly get anything done are more exhausting than the super days when I whiz along at breakneck speed?
The truth is, super days ARE special—they do not come along every day. As tempted as I am to strive to have super days on a regular basis, they tend to surprise me when they come along. Instead of lamenting why every day cannot be amazing, I suppose I should be grateful that I get the grand days I do!
