Subtitle: So This is Why Mario and Karina Are No Longer a Couple
Timing is everything isn’t it?
The same day PEOPLE magazine named Mario Lopez as its Hottest Bachelor of the Year, Star magazine ran an interview with the woman who reportedly helped the actor maintain his bachelor status.
While some hinted that the Chorus Line star was about to pop the question to his girlfriend (and former “Dancing with the Stars” pro partner) Karina Smirnoff, a waitress from San Antonio, Texas knew better. Meaghan Cooper claims Lopez romanced her for 11 months behind Smirnoff’s back and is the reason the flexible couple decided to call it quits after nearly two years together.
According to the tabloid report, Lopez cheated on Smirnoff with Cooper and tried to cover his tracks in the process.
The 22-year-old waitress tells Star: “He has a lot of great qualities, but he’s not the most faithful person in the world. He told me he lived alone, but I opened up his closet and saw a row of women’s shoes and said, ‘Either you’re a cross-dresser or a woman is living here.’
According to Cooper, Lopez repeatedly told her that Smirnoff, who had moved in with him late last year, “just left her stuff there and was moving out.”
Cooper adds, “He kept telling me he and Karina were broken up.”
Wishful thinking that eventually came to fruition.
But c’mon are any of us really shocked that Lopez cheated on Smirnoff?
After all, this is the same guy who reportedly cheated on his ex-wife Ali Landry on the night of his bachelor party. A party that took place less than 36 hours before he was to wed the actress who had been his girlfriend for more than six years.
Back then numerous publications noted that Landry had been repeatedly warned about her fiancé’s wandering eye, but she went through with the 2004 wedding anyway.
Within two weeks of their lavish nuptials Landry reportedly found evidence that proved Lopez was unfaithful just hours before they tied the knot in Mexico. She also allegedly found evidence of Lopez’s other infidelities and kicked him to the curb.
A month later Landry filed for divorce and four years later Lopez lapses again and ends up at the top of PEOPLE’s Hottest Bachelor List… a place he will likely remain unless he can change his cheating ways.
