If you are not already, the whole family can become fans of the Wiggles after watching one of their many DVDs. “Wiggly Play Time” can be one to add to your child’s collection.
Jeff and Murray are sunbathing at the beginning of this DVD — sunbathing in their Wiggles outfits no less. Then the screen flicks to the Wiggles playing hide-and-seek out back of Wiggle House. When one of them bumps into a tree, a tape case with the “Wiggles Crest” on it and they discover that there is a video cassette of them when they were six years old. They go inside and watch the tape, where the six-year-old Wiggles are singing “Get Ready to Wiggle.” By the way, for those of you who watch “The Wiggles Show” on Playhouse Disney, these are not the same four boys who play the Little Wiggles. While the Wiggles are inside watching their video, Dorothy is outside in the rose garden reminiscing about how her garden used to be such an empty field.
So much dancing happens on this video, like other Wiggles videos. The Hebrew song “Havenu Shalom Alechem” is featured. The Wiggles are standing on platforms and there is a group of girls dancing. I am not sure whether it is an Israeli dance, but the clothing certainly does not convey that. “Move Your Arms Like Henry” shows Henry the Octopus dancing with the Wiggles in his underwater world. “We’re Dancing with Wags the Dog” has Wags and the Wiggles showing you and your child how to “shake your hips and groove along.”
A couple of live performances are also featured on this DVD. Referring back to the dancing, “The Monkey Dance” is one of the live songs. During this song, the Wiggles encourage the audience to “do the monkey…do the elephant…[and]…do the tiger.” “Captain Feathersword Fell Asleep on His Pirate Ship” is another live performance featured. This song is another version of the famous “Quack Quack.”
“Wiggly Play Time” is another hit DVD for the Wiggles. You will not be disappointed if you add this one to your child’s DVD collection.
