The Wiggles can always be counted upon to provide quality children’s entertainment and their DVD “Wiggly, Wiggly World!” is no exception. With guest stars to help them sing their songs and dance with their friends, “Wiggly, Wiggly World!” is a wiggly treat for the entire family.
This DVD begins with the ever-popular Wiggles song, “Here Come the Wiggles.” In this video, the Wiggles introduce you to their friends. Henry the Octopus, Captain Feathersword, Dorothy the Dinosaur, and Wags the Dog all come out and dance with the Wiggles. They invite you to “clap and sing and dance along too.” My daughter and I love to dance to this song.
There are several guest starts on this DVD. Australian singer/dancer/actress Christine Anu joins the Wiggles in a song from the Eastern Torres Strait islands called “Taba Naba.” This song is all about going down to the reef and having some fun and is sung in the Meriam Mir language. The motions that go along with this song are simple and will have you and your child dancing along. The famous Rolf Harris joins the Wiggles on his classic “Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport” in which he sings about different animals found in the Australian Outback. He uses funny instrument called a wobble board to help the listener imagine a kangaroo jumping.
Many more fun songs grace “Wiggly, Wiggly World!” “Another Cuppa” is all about Captain Feathersword drinking Dorothy’s rosy tea. When he drinks some, he discovers that he can’t have just one cup. He keeps asking Dorothy for more, but she and Greg are trying to convince him to slow down. Greg, Murray, Jeff, and Anthony go for a ride in the Big Red Car in “Let’s Go: We’re Riding in the Big Red Car.” They sing about driving through the country, hills, mountains, cities, and towns. They pass Officer Beaples and wave hello to her.
“Wiggly, Wiggly World!” is another great DVD from the wonderful Wiggles. You and your child will have fun clapping, singing, and dancing along to these great songs.
