Wii Fit Can Get You in Shape

Wii fit I have to admit that I have become a Biggest Loser fan. I stayed away from previous seasons, since I am not generally one to watch reality shows, but got hooked on this one, in spite of the obvious product placements. It was inspiring. And now I am looking forward to seeing the new Wii Fit product in action. In fact, it might even require that we purchase a Wii.

Wii Fit is anticipated here soon in the United States and is seen as the next big thing from Nintendo. It was released in Japan back in December, and it is already the best-selling game of the year.

Wii Fit combines fun and interesting games with a unique balance board controller that contains built-in sensors that track the player’s front to back and side to side movements, as well as the weight of the player. The balance board then responds to this weight and movement to control the avatar on the screen.

The games that come as part of Wii Fit combine strength training, aerobics, and muscle toning. The Wii Fit will even calculate your body mass index (BMI), based on your height weight and age, and keep track of your fitness level. BMI is a calculation of the fat level in your body.

When you first start your Wii fit adventure, you will be taken through a series of tests that measure your ability to balance the left and the right sides of your body. Based on those results, you’ll be assigned a Wii Fit age that will be used to help track your fitness progress. Then it is time to get down and sweaty.

Wii Fit includes more than 40 games, from the standard skiing to a fun-seeming game that requires you to catch hula hoops from the air and to keep them all spinning on your body. There is also yoga poses to learn.
