Woman Tries To Kill Sandra Bullock’s Husband

Maybe it’s the price of fame… or, perhaps it simply speaks to the instability of obsessed fans… Either way, actress Sandra Bullock’s husband, Jesse James is lucky to be alive today.

According to California police, a woman tried to kill James on Sunday morning outside of the Orange County home he shares with Bullock and his 10-year-old son.

“At around 10:40 a.m. James found the female suspect lying on their driveway,” police told local news reporters. “He told her to leave, but instead she got into her 2004 silver Mercedes and tried to run him over three to four times. …The woman tried to kill him.”

Police say James did not suffer any serious injuries, but the entire family (Bullock and James’s young son witnessed the attack) is still in shock.

Officers say they were not able to catch up with the woman until the day after she fled the crime scene. They say she then posted $25,000 bail and is back on the streets today. According to news reports, the woman had stalked Bullock in the past. However, police say they were unable to confirm whether the actress had filed a restraining order against her.

Does anyone else wonder how a woman who drives a 2004 Mercedes and who is able to fork over 25-grand in cash could not have connections to people who could save her from herself?

I would venture to guess that we will be learning more about the suspect in the days and weeks to come (she is scheduled to appear in court on assault charges next month). In the meantime, I sure hope Bullock, James, but especially James’s 10-year-old son, receive any emotional aid needed to help them get through this ordeal. After all, can you imagine how horrifying it must have been for James’s young son to stand by and watch someone try to repeatedly run over his father?
