Xtend Barre: Lean and Chiseled with Andrea Rogers will be released on April 5, 2011. You have the option of pre-ordering it at a guaranteed price from Amazon.com. Distributed by Acacia, a leading distributor of fitness, yoga and wellness DVD programming, this DVD should have a place in your workout routine. I have long been a fan of Pilates and Xtend Barre is a nice addition to a Pilates routine and takes it a step further. It has been said, “If Pilates sculpts your body, Xtend Barre Chisels it.’ That was enough to make me want to give it a try.
About Andrea Rogers:
She is the creator and owner of Xtend Workout, LLC. She is a professional dancer and choreographer. For over a decade she has taught Pilates in the US and in Canada. She has combined her love of dance and Pilates skills into the Xtend workout.
About Xtend Barre: Lean Chiseled Workout:
This is a 55 minute DVD which is divided into three segments. I love it when DVDs are divided up. It helps make the time go by faster even if it is only a mind trick I play on myself. The first segment focuses on the upper body. You will do various exercises to target your shoulders, arms and back. The second segment has a dance feel and troubleshoots tough areas we all know and hate; hips, glutes, and thighs. Finally the third segment is a core program which as it suggests targets your abdominal muscles. The program consists of cardio and toning to give you a full all over body workout.
My thoughts:
Xtend Barre is my favorite type of working. I love a blend of cardio and toning in any routine. I want to build muscle as well as lose fat so the combination is the most effective and fastest way to achieve results. I also enjoy the program is not your standard 20 minute jaunt around the block. While I see the benefit of shorter workouts, this workout is purposeful, challenging, and effective. It concentrates on muscle building for all over body toning.
