It is important to help protect your young men from stumbling upon this accidentally, which can lead to a negative habit. One of the ways you can help your sons is to filter your Internet. You can do this by subscribing to a filtering service. You can often set up with the service the type of sites that you want blocked. If you do not feel comfortable filtering your Internet, you can set up a watch dog program which reports to you the sites which have been visited. Personally I would talk to your children before you did this, so that they are aware that you are watching.
It is also important to talk to your sons about the different influences that the media can have on them. Pornographic material can be found on television shows and in ads. It can be found in catalogues and in many other forms. You need to teach your sons to avoid the very appearance of evil. A good rule of thumb is to not watch something that you wouldn’t watch if your mom were in the room with you.
Another way to help your sons is to have the computer and the television in a centralized location in the home. It should be in area where it is easy for others to see what is on the screen. Similarly you may want to avoid having televisions in each bedroom. This will also help your family to spend more time together, rather than isolated from each other.
