Your Self-Image Defines Your Success

I talk a lot about motivation and goal setting, I think it’s important to keep in mind that if you believe in yourself, anything is possible. I know that sounds exceptionally cliché, but remember – in every cliché there is a root of truth. Clichés become clichés because those truths are proven again and again.

So when I say that your self-image will help you define your success, I mean that literally as well as figuratively. If you see yourself as a failure, that is what you will be. If you see yourself unable to overcome your challenges, then you will not be able to.

If you see your fitness goals and ideals as impossible – then they are going to be. Your exercise program will always be too hard. Your diet choices will always be poor and your ability to look beyond the moment will always be colored by this self-image.

Internal Beliefs

Our internal beliefs shape our faith, self-esteem and self-confidence. While most people consider it a popular catch phrase in our society, self-image is vital to our success. The great thing about our internal beliefs and self-image is that we control it.

Yes, our upbringing, families and other close-knit relationships as well as the popular culture images – but the ultimate decision about who we believe we are and what we believe we are is up to each individual person affect us. If you believe that you will be able to achieve your goals – then you’re going to.

Trite, maybe – and maybe you will need to attempt several different methods in order to find the one that provides you with the success you need. So take a few moments every day to visualize who you are and who you want to be. It’s important that you look at yourself in a positive light – perhaps even think of yourself as a canvas and you are the painter. Your brush strokes will determine who you are and how you are going to look and feel.

How does your self-image affect you?
