YouTube Can Be Your Spiritual Uplift

I was on YouTube looking for something, and a video caught my attention. it was titled, LDS Missionaries Coming Home Mix. I watched it and was touched. Being a return missionary myself, I know the kinds of emotions that you can feel stepping off that plane and back into real life again. It’s hard, but at the same time, you are so excited to see the people you love and miss most in the whole world! It made those feelings come back again, and gave me a little spiritual boost to watch it.

I started browsing other videos. As you know, there is a Mormon Messages Channel which has great messages from the prophets and apostles often adapted from popular talks they have given. There are photo montages of the Savior put to beautiful music, and inspiring stories from church members. Visiting this channel often can give you the spiritual boost you need mid-week. I know that attending church every Sunday is vital to my spiritual well-being, but doing something during the week to make sure I’m uplifted is important too.

You have to be careful though when watching videos online. There are plenty of videos out there that are negative toward the church. Make sure you always monitor your children when they are watching too.

I am so grateful to live in this day and age when we have resources like this to help us. It is always nice to see positive messages going around social media websites like facebook, and blogs. It truly can have an impact on our spirituality. And, more importantly, there is so much negativity online that can easily suck you in. But, it’s a nice contrast to have so much positivity too. Think about adding some online Mormon messages to your weekly routine to add to your own personal spirituality.
