Yummy Yummy

Yet another Wiggles DVD has recently joined my daughter’s growing collection. “Yummy Yummy” features this lovable quartet singing and dancing to songs all about food, numbers, and friends. You and your child will have fun singing and dancing along with Greg, Murray, Jeff, and Anthony.

The first song on this DVD is the infamous “Hot Potato.” With dancing reminiscent of childhood rhymes, the Wiggles provide movements for hot potatoes, cold spaghetti, and mashed bananas. Going along with the food theme, “Fruit Salad” is also featured on this DVD, but at the end. This is where the title for the DVD comes from since the first line of the song is “Fruit salad, yummy yummy.” This song tells all about how to make a fruit salad, including peeling bananas, filling up the bowl, eating the fruit salad, and cleaning up after the feast.

A lot of dancing is also a part of every Wiggles DVD. “Shaky Shaky” has the Wiggles dressed up in outfits resembling those of Elvis Presley, each in their respective colors of course. In this song, the Wiggles shake their bodies to different speeds, helping teach your child about fast and slow while entertaining.

There are a couple of strange things about this DVD as opposed to some others done by the Wiggles. Puppets are used for two songs on this DVD. These puppets are supposed to resemble the Wiggles and their friends, but they are actually quite funny-looking. The Wiggles favorite “Can You Point Your Fingers and Do the Twist?” and “Go Captain Feathersword, Ahoy” are performed by these puppets. It sounds like both songs had their tempos increased which makes it sound like the Wiggles on helium. “Can You Point Your Fingers and Do the Twist?” is more like a remix with only the first verse, a background of swirly colors, and weird animal puppets that pop on and off the screen. They also have the Wiggles puppets jumping and flailing around quite a bit. “Havenu Shalom Alachem” (Hevenu Shalom Aleichem) is listed as one of the songs on the DVD, but I have watched it with my daughter several times and I don’t remember it being on there.

In any case, my daughter enjoys this Wiggles DVD just the same and it will still be a welcome addition to your child’s Wiggles DVD collection.

The Wiggles are Murray Cook, Jeff Fatt, Anthony Field, and Greg Page. You can purchase DVDs by the Wiggles at Toys-R-Us, Wal-Mart, the Wiggles’ website, and many other online and children’s retailers.

Note: The Wiggles website does not sell DVDs to the USA or Canada. To purchase these online, go to Hit Entertainment.
